Jessica & Myron’s Hatteras Wedding

Weddings

I’ve known Myron for several years now. We worked together for a long time in the same office and developed a fun & quirky friendship. He also played softball on our co-ed team and got to spend many late nights out on the field with us! When he reached out to me to say he was getting married and asked if I would consider coming to Hatteras, NC to be their photographer, there was no question, absolutely!

Myron & Jessica met all thanks to Myron’s brother, Reese. They had been to a few social functions and been introduced to each other when finally one day Myron asked Jessica to go on a date at City Center in Hampton, Va. Their relationship grew from there and they never looked back, it was a new beginning for each of them.

If you’ve never been down to Hatteras, NC it’s something you really should consider doing! Think of any Nicolas Sparks novel and Hatteras fits it to a T. A small fishing village, Hatteras offers a wonderfully quiet but active community of activities and beach life. Myron & Jessica decided to rent a gorgeous home right on the ocean to host their families for the week. When I arrived I was greeted by Myron and his Dad Randy, who is sweet as he can be! As most beach houses are, it was multi level with lots of bedrooms, a pool & hot tub, elevator, and a lovely private walk right on to the beach. I made my way upstairs to find Jessica in the master bedroom, getting her hair & makeup complete by her little sister Desiree, it was so nice to watch them together!

As I was making my way down to the beach I was walking with Jessica’s Mom, Lila. I told her how beautiful the beach was to have the ceremony to which she replied “Jessica loves the beach, that’s why we just new it had to be here.” Jessica and I are the same, a heart for the beach! Not a whole lot is really required with such an amazing backdrop provided.

The processional included Jessica and Myron’s children with the help of their niece, Karle, along with Myron’s brother Reese and Jessica’s sister Desiree. When it was time for the ceremony to begin, Myron waited for Jessica to be walked down the beach by her Dad, Randy. Acoustic guitar & vocals where provided by their pastors from their home church.

The sunset was perfect! Blue waves crashing with marshmallow clouds on the horizon. You could not ask for a better environment for couples portraits after the ceremony!!I love how Jessica’s dress would be swept around by the sea breeze, it was magical!

Jessica did a wonderful job selecting all of the small details of their day. Mint and coral with hints of starfish were just perfect for their intimate beachside ceremony.

While we were taking portraits on the beach, the families were busy preparing a lovely feast in the couples honor back at the house. It smelled amazing!

Myron & Jessica, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this very special day. You have a beautiful family and your love and dedication to each other is truly endearing. Cheers to you!!!
