Magical Golden Hour Maternity Session

Elizabeth reached out to me after seeing a recent maternity session I had done for one of my best friends. She and her sweet husband, Sean, were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child who was due in April.

Elizabeth and Sean met while serving in the military and had recently been stationed in Virginia. They really wanted to capture the season of living by the beach and welcoming this new addition to their family. So a golden hour beach session was the obvious choice!

Since Elizabeth’s due date was in April to be sure that we would be able to capture her before delivering, we scheduled their session in mid March. If you live in Virginia Beach you know that Spring can be a little bit of a tease and warm days are coupled with much colder ones until about May.

Well despite the challenge of a colder day, Elizabeth showed up fully committed to the most stunning Boho Chic Mama assemble you could ever imagine! To say I was excited was a true understatement!!! Not only had she picked out the most flattering maternity dress and flower crown they were in my favorite color, blush pink.

Sean was so great and helped Elizabeth at every turn, it was incredibly sweet to watch! Both Sean and Elizabeth are serving in the medical field of the military and Sean was super excited that he would be able to be in the room when Elizabeth delivers.

The golden hour sun we had was AMAZING!!!! Looking at these images you can’t even tell that it was in the 50’s and slightly breezy on the beach! It really looks like a warm August evening!

Towards the end of our session we were able to get a little creative and have some fun with the gorgeous gown Elizabeth wore. Check out these last photos! Could you die?!
